Salisbury Cathedral

Thanks to the surrounding water meadows Salisbury Cathedral can still be viewed in a setting that has not changed in hundreds of years. The views from Harnham Water Meadows allow the Cathedral to be seen in a more rural setting than most ancient buildings and provide a timeless element to the scene.

The Cathedral's spire also dominates the landscape for many miles around. It can be seen from great distances, just as it has been for centuries.

Unfortunately it is very difficult to take a photograph of the Cathedral without some of the constant restoration work in progress in view.
