Woodland
Pheasant's Nest
This nest was built very close to a woodland path and earlier in the day I had walked past while the pheasant was on the nest. The pheasant was a very unusual deep indigo blue and hadn't moved as I walked past - presumably thinking it was well camoflaged. I went back later to try and grab a photo of the blue pheasant, but it wasn't there.
I settled for a shot of the eggs nestling amongst the dried bracken and wood anemones. Given that the anemones were flowering this was very early for the pheasant to have eggs.
