Beech Woods, Melbury Down

I had seen these woods earlier in the week and the colour was wonderful, but on that day it was grey and overcast and not worth attempting a photo. Later in the week the weather looked more hopeful so I took a chance that it might clear. The weather never really cleared enough to get the photograph I wanted, but while I was waiting for the right conditions I took this shot as the late afternoon sun lit up the hillside opposite.
