Water Vole

Every day for a week I had seen a barn owl hunting in the meadows so I decided to get up early and try and get a photo. After half an hour of waiting in vain for the owl I decided to move position and came across this water vole munching away on the water cress.

I took a number of shots of vole and then decided to head home. Just as I turned from the river the barn owl flew around the corner, over my head and off through the trees.
