Tree Roots

This ash tree with its large buttress roots is on one of my regular walks and I had always though that it would make an interesting photograph. However it wasn't until the right time of year when the alliums where flowering all around the tree that I saw the image I wanted. The alliums blend so well with the mossy roots. It was fairly windy on the day I took this and in places the flowers are a little blurred because of the wind. Hopefully I'll get a still day next year.
