Glen of Spottes

This waterfall is at the bottom of steep wooded glen and the decsent to get to it is quite interesting. Amongst photographers there seems to be an obsession about using a long exposure when photographing waterfalls in order to blur the movement of the water. In this case there was little alternative because there was little light at the bottom of the glen. The other difficulty was finding a safe position for the tripod without actually being in the water. The force of the water coming over the fall cut out all other sound and was making the air move the tree branches.
