The photographs in this calendar have been taken in the countryside around Salisbury, an area where Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset meet, it includes the chalk downlands of South Wiltshire and Cranborne Chase. The area doesn’t really have a widely accepted or commonly used name hence the title ‘Chalk and Chase’.

This landscape of great natural beauty and diversity is at the heart of the ‘Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)’. The photographs show the different characteristics of the countryside through the seasons - chalk downland, ancient woodland, clear chalk streams and of course, farmland.
