Bramshaw Woods in Autumn

I had walked past this group of beechtrees during the winter and thought that the moss covered mound would make an interesting image. When I returned in the autumn the mound was covered in fallen leaves that contrasted with the moss and the sunlight was shining through the leaves that were still on the trees.

The photograph has a lot of contrast in it and needed a strong ND grad to even up the exposure between the bright sunlit leaves and the darker foreground.

Equipment Canon EOS 5D, 20-35mm lense, ND grad, polariser, tripod
