Autumn Canopy

This was taken in the New Forest. The Autumn colour in 2007 has been very good and the leaves have stayed on the trees for a long time.

It is sometimes difficult to find a good photograph in woodland because there are so many fallen trees and branchs in the frame that make the whole composition too messy. This slightly alternative perspective gets around that and makes the most of the vibrant colours.

This was taken with a wide angled lense on a tripod. A polarising filter gives the sky its dramatic blue and makes the most of the autumnn colours.

Equipment Canon EOS 5D, 20-35mm lense, polarising filter, tripod
